Having an installed instant hot/cold water dispenser is all about convenience. But with any hard working appliance, problems are bound to arise eventually. American Home Shield will pay up to $2,000 per covered appliance ($4,000 with the ShieldPlatinum plan) for access, diagnosis, and repair/ replacement per the limitations and exclusions in your plan agreement.

Hot/cold water dispensers that are freestanding and portable, or otherwise not connected to the covered home’s plumbing system

Yes, our ShieldGold™ and ShieldPlatinum™ plans cover the parts and components of installed instant hot/cold water dispensers.

We cover all parts and components of installed instant hot/cold water dispensers. The ShieldGold plan covers up to $2,000 for each covered appliance. The ShieldPlatinum plan covers up to $4,000 for each covered appliance. And if we can’t repair the covered item, we’ll replace it subject to the limitations and exclusions in your plan agreement. No, we do not cover any freestanding and countertop instant hot/cold water dispensers. We only cover all components and parts of installed instant hot/cold water dispensers that are connected to water lines. 

If we can’t repair your covered installed instant hot/cold water dispenser, we’ll replace it subject to the limitations and exclusions in your plan agreement and remove the defective item.

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

Instant hot water dispensers that attach to your home’s water line can last many years with proper care. It will depend on how you use your dispenser, the model, and the upkeep of your unit.

No, if your covered hot and water dispenser cannot be repaired, we’ll replace it with a new unit with the same functionality.
